***Ready for Spring***

Today the ground is frozen, covered with snow and ice and the forecast for tomorrow is more of the same....4"-6" of snow I believe is what they said. I'm longing to look out of the french doors in the my kitchen and see that lovely green blanket interspersed with blooms in red and pink and purple.

I'm ready to smell the honeysuckle and lilacs wafting through the windows and watch the lavender bloom. I want to dig in the dirt and fill pots with flowers that will spill over the sides giving us color and fragrance for months.

I want to hear the water cascade down the waterfall and watch my friend the frog dive into the little pond as I walk by on my way to the garden to gather tomatoes or strawberries or peppers.

I was so excited to see the Burpee seed catalog arrive. It means that this scene is not all that far away. I want one of everything!

One of the advantages of working at a place like Lowes is that you know when the seasons are changing just by what's arriving on the trucks. Grills have started coming, outdoor furniture can't be far behind but I'm really looking forward to seeing those first shipments of plants!!!

For now, I'll play along. Shovel the snow, build a snowman and dream of Spring.
